Wear Your Waste is a passionate environmental company that makes clothes from advanced eco materials.
We are based in Tarifa, Spain at the most southerly tip of Europe and our local beach is the place where the Mediterranean and Atlantic meet. A perfect place for beach culture to meet nature and for us to give back.
The clothing industry needs to be reshaped to meet the environment’s demands. Short life collections, shipping from faraway lands and exploiting natural resources and people are not acceptable any longer. We are passionate about being part of the change.
STYLE NOT FASHION
Nothing ages quicker than fashion. The whole concept encourages waste. Our classic designs do not feature trendy prints, but unique artwork that makes them timeless pieces that can be worn forever.
Our bikinis are built to last for many years to maximise their life before recycling. We use the highest quality swimwear fabrics. Our inks will not fade after a couple of washes or a holiday in the sun. All this quality is obtained using regenerated fishing nets and other post-consumer waste. Your bikini will look brand new but you will actually be wearing waste.
The prints on our bikinis are exclusive to WearYourWaste. You will not see our artists’ prints anywhere else on the beach. They are unique, interesting, eye catching and timeless.
Local produce has become important in people’s eating habits. Local manufacturing of our clothes must be the next step. We don’t want clothes shipped from far away lands in a monstrous container vessel. All that carbon being burnt for a bikini is wrong. Our clothes are made in Italy by properly paid skilled tailors using European fabrics.
We have taken no secret shortcuts. Our bags are made from biodegradable cellulose rather than plastic. Our hangtags are made from recycled card. We use no paper and you will receive everything digitally. We are constantly looking for areas where we can reduce our carbon footprint and we encourage our suppliers to move to the green ECOnomy.
We want to create a fully carbon neutral and fully recycled product. This is a work in progress. Our stitching still uses unrecycled nylon and the elastane mixed with the regenerated fabric is not recycled either. But we are on a mission to change that. The more clothes we sell, the more resources we have to make this change happen. We want to become a huge company, because the demand for waste will grow with us and nature will be cleaner with every step.
